Persian is not the language of Iran or Afghanistan, but also spoken in the regions where there is an influence of Persian culture. Before the arrival of the British, this was the official language of Muslim rulers in Indian Subcontinent. It is also known as Dari and Farsi because it is not only restricted to Muslims, but also to the Afghan people who are abundantly speaking this language.

 

Farsi that is the second name for the Persian language is mostly spoken in Iran. For us it is clear that these two are the forms of Persian languages, but in the western world this thing is confusing that is why most of the people see these two as the same languages as the similarities are too obvious.

 

Dari Language:

  • Dari is officially declared as the language of Afghanistan, whereas the other prominent language that is spoken there is Pashto. The western worlds see it as Afghani, Persian because of the phonetic and grammatical overlapping with the Iranian national language.
  • This language is spoken by 5 million people of Afghanistan and is the common language of communication.
  • About this form of Persian language, it is supposed that it was spoken in Darbar the throne, which was used by the rulers hence got its name as Dari.
  • To Learn Persian, having hands on this language is easy as it is clear in dialects and has easy to learn and understand grammar.

Farsi Language:

  • Like Dari, Farsi is the official language of Iran. It belongs to some other group and has similarities mostly with Arabic language.
  • Arabic itself is difficult to learn because of its Alphabets, this part of the Persian language is not easy to understand and learn.
  • The language has more similarities to Urdu and Hindi than English language making it more convenient to learn for those who are native of Pakistan and India.

Differences between Farsi and Dari:

  1. On common grounds, Farsi is no more than a Dialect of Persian language.
  2. Farsi is also spoken by the people of Afghanistan and is just a variety of Dari that is the official language of this country.
  3. Those who know the languages very much are aware of the fact that the language that is spoken in Afghanistan is an Eastern Persian language and the one spoken in Iran is western Persian language.
  4. Even in modified form the Alphabets in the Dari and Persian remains the same.
  5. If look upon the vowel system one will find that, the vowel system in Dari is different and the person will come to know that there are some consonants, which make Dari different from Farsi.
  6. To spot on the main difference between Farsi and Dari they have a main difference in the pronunciation and no more than this.

Arabic Language and its connotations

 

 

Arabic is the fifth widest spoken language, which once was dominated the entire Arab dynasty. Around three hundred million of the inhabitants of this globe speak Arabic and is the sacred language in which  is composed, and has said to be the divine miracle blessed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Hajj and Umrah a station of Commemorations

  • Ihram commemorations

Wearing Ihram reunites the Muslims with the fact that nothing is of high distinction in sight of Allah but everyone is equal. “So We said, "O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer.” [20:117]

 

  • Animal sacrifice

The animal sacrifice is in respect of the historic Islamic event in which Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) succeeded in his commitment to Allah Almighty. The Holly Book of Lord states it as:

 

“So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), We called out to him, "O Abraham! You have already fulfilled the vision!" thus indeed do We reward those who do right. For this was obviously a trial. And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice.” [37: 103-107]

Calligraphy is an aesthetic code and art that is unique to Islamic culture and bears significant importance. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah)

 

Hence, this is one of the reasons why the Holy Month of Ramadan is such a celebrated month and Muslims try to indulge in as many religious activities as they can.

Besides the spiritual benefits, the month of Ramadan isn’t free from health benefits as well. With the diet being limited greatly, the digestive system of a Muslim goes through a lot of healthy changes. For instance, when we have remained hungry for a great part of the day, then at the break of Roza (Iftari), we somehow tend to consume more water than food. This plays a very important role for us because this way we will be burning more fat during the rest of the day (before Iftari that is). Dates

Often due to the stress that a Muslim goes through in fasting, the body goes through certain problem such as headache, low blood sugar and lethargy. Second Ashra of Ramadan the Days of Forgiveness

Ramadan

Ramadan is a month of countless blessings of Muslims; it is the time when Muslims engage in excessive worship with the aim of achieving great blessings and getting the past sins forgiven by Allah who is the most merciful and the most forgiving. In this month, the reward for each good deed is multiplied greatly. One can get the idea of this from the following hadith:

“Whoever draws near to Allah during it (Ramadan) with a single characteristic from the characteristics of (voluntary) goodness, he is like whoever performs an obligatory act in other times. And whoever performs an obligatory act during it, he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.”  (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah)

Another hadith signifies the importance of quran recitation:

“He who reads one letter of the Quran it (becomes) for him a good deed, and a single good deed is rewarded (by Allah) by ten times the like thereof. I am not saying that Alif-Lam-Mim is (just) one word, but that Alif  is a (separate) letter (word), Lam is a (separate) letter (word), and Mim is a (separate) letter (word).”  (Tirmidhi)

Therefore, Quran surah recitation in Ramadan is particularly beneficial as each ten sawab or recitation would then be multiplied by seventy. This greatly increases our chances of entering Jannah (heaven) as our naama-e-aimal would be greatly enhanced and that is what is required for entering Jannah (heaven). We should thus recite as many quran surahs as we can, the translation of them is also as important, such as surah yaseen Urdu translation.

10 days of ramadan

 

Division of Ramadan and the second ten days

Ramadan is divided into three parts, each consisting of ten days. The second ten days are believed to be the days of forgiveness. This is important information for all as we sin a lot, and we wish for their forgiveness as well. Hence the second ten days must be utilized for worship as much as possible. There are certain du’as for each ashra and they ought to be memorized for maximum benefits. The dua of this ashra is as follows:

“I ask forgiveness of my sins from Allah who is my Lord and I turn towards Him.”  (Translation)

In addition to this, fasting in Ramadan with good intentions and pure hearts results in forgiveness of sins. As is evident from the following hadith:

“.. whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven."  (Sahih Bukhari)

Therefore, our intentions must always be to please Allah and never to “show off” our deeds to others.

Ramadan must not be taken for granted, every Muslim must avail the blessings of this month to enhance his naama-e-aimal.

Surat Al-`Ādiyāt

 

Introduction

This is the 100th surah (chapter) of the Holy Quran, comprising of 11 ayahs (verses). It is debatable that whether this surah was revealed in Makkah or Madina, but the subject and style of this surah somewhat point out that it’s Makki (revealed in Makkah). It first talks about the chaos, destruction that was common in Arab and then the foolish nature of man where he forgets about the day when every man would be awoken from his grave and made answerable and punishable for his deeds. Situation of Arab

Before the advent of Islam, Arab was a land of extreme ignorance. No knowledge of any sort of monotheism, ruthless brutality towards the innocents, infidelity are only a few of the wrongs mentioned here that was common everywhere. Love for gold and other wealth was very extreme and Arabs were readily willing to plunder other villages for it, no matter how many helpless women and children they kill in the process. Such plunderers preferred that they attacked villages at night. In this surah, the

 

“By the racers, panting, And the producers of sparks [when] striking” 

(The Quran 100:1-2)

 

 is referred to this. Since the horses panted while running and the hoofs of the horses produced sparks with the hard ground at night.

Almost every village suffered this fate. Consequently, the safest village was the one which had no or very little gold or the one with great defenses. Thus, there was no heart for innocents, no care for the lives lost or destroyed. The only sympathy or concern was for wealth. men did all the destruction they could for obtaining it.

 

The fool that man is

 

Man is nothing but a great fool to think that he can get away with his sins. He must realize that one day he will be made answerable for everything. For every evil act of his, he will have a suitable punishment for it. It is not the punishment of courts that is being referred here, but the punishment from man’s creator i.e. Allah Almighty. Man thinks that he can do whatever he likes and “you live only once”. All these are foolish myths. For you live twice; the second life is the one we will live after we die, which will start by the judgment day where man will be rewarded and punished for each of his great deeds and sins respectively.

 

The final day

Allah provides justice to all and He keeps His word. If we feel that we’re not being given fair justice then we must remain patient, for He remembers everything and does not forget to punish the wrong and reward the good. As mentioned in this surah:

 

“And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense. But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered. And that within the breasts is obtained, Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted.”

(The Quran 100:8-11)

Thus, whatever is in our hearts will be obtained and no secret would be kept. Everything would be shown for all to see.

Mankind must remember that every deed of his is being recorded and will be presented in front of him one day. He will be punished accordingly for the bad or evil that did. Hence, this reminder must prompt him for staying good and on the right path leading to heaven.

There are many du’as (supplications) for so many purposes. We can even pray to Him in our own words. In this article, we discuss certain du’as that are known for protection against different kinds of evil. Reading Surah yasin in the beginning of day fulfills all your desires.The Quran, across many instances has mentioned the glory of Allah and his dominion over all the worlds and things. The du’as that can be used for protection against evil also state His control over all and by reciting them we acknowledge this fact and say that we fear only Him and nothing else. Examples of such surahs are Surah Baqarah, Surah Ikhlas and Surah Mulk. The different types of du’as we can recite for protection against different kinds of evil are:

 

Du’a for Protection against black magic

 

There was an incident when some women cast a black magic on Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). Muhammad (S.A.W.) was greatly hurt and in such a hard time, Allah advised His beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) to recite the following verses:

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak. From the evil of that which He created. And from the evil of darkness when it settles. And from the evil of the blowers in knots.”  (The Quran 113:1-5)

By reciting this surah, we declare that we seek Allah’s help from such evil and acknowledge that there is no power greater than Him.

 

 

Du’a for Protection against evil of the night

 

By ‘evil of the night’, we mean the evil spirits or jinn’s that dwell in the night. There’s a verse from the second chapter (Surah Baqarah) of the Holy Quran that is recited for protection against such evil. That verse is known as ‘Ayat-ul-Kursi’. Importance of this ayah is illustrated n the following hadith:

“Jinn’s and Shaytan do not come close to the house in which Ayatul Kursi is recited.”

(Tirmizi Altargheeb Wal Tarheeb Lilmanzari)

 

“Whoever recites the Verse of the Throne Aayat-ul-Kursi (2:255) at the end (after) of every obligatory prayer will be in Allah's protection until the next prayer."  (At-Tabrani)

 

Narrated by Abu Huraira that Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W.) said, “If anyone recites in the morning Ha-Mim al-Mu’min to ‘to Him is the final goal, and the Throne Verse, he will be guarded by them till the evening, and if anyone recites them in the evening he will be guarded by them till the morning.”
(Al-Tirmidhi)    

 

Thus, from the above hadith we can judge the importance of this ayah for our protection during sleep.

 

Conclusion

 

Allah’s message is the greatest and it can help us no matter what kind of trouble we are in. This world is His creation along with the troubles in it. Hence, if we feel troubled from some evil then we must turn to Him and seek His help to seek refuge from evil.

Gender Equality in Islam

Allah has created pairs in everything and He has mentioned this in various places across the Quran. Some instances are evident in the following Quran translation:

“Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.” (The Quran 36:36)

 

“And We created you in pairs” (The Quran 78:8)

It’s no doubt that there are differences amongst them; one is superior to the other. However, this does not mean that the worker is deprived of some rights and make it a principle of such and such activities being limited to a certain gender only. Women can be involved in the same activities as men, given that the limitations are taken care of. Many schools of thought are ignorant of the limitations and simply ban or prohibit some activities on women altogether. Here, some of such activities will be conferred and the wrong decisions will be proven wrong by Surah of the Quran and Hadith.

 

Education                                                                     

Although an old concept and phased our already, it’s still employed in some parts of the developing countries. It was thought inappropriate to send women to colleges and universities for education, that “they would be out of control if they’re taught more, or would begin to question everything they’re taught or their way of living”.

It’s a wrong concept and education should be provided to all, no matter their gender. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) has also said:

“Seeking knowledge is mandatory for every Muslim.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

We can see there’s no restriction on any gender for acquisition of knowledge. He declared this practice to be mandatory for everyone, regardless of the gender. Education also has the benefit that it adds the ability of sound decision making. Since very household has a woman in it, then it’s necessary that they be educated.

 

Job

Many Muslims communities share the opinion that women shouldn’t be allowed to work, but as mentioned before, if limitations are taken care of, then they can be involved in the same activities as men. A great example of a woman doing business is Hazrat Khadeja (R.A.) who belonged to the Quraishi tribe and was the wife of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). Given this great example of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) allowing his wife to be a merchant doing business and then we ought to not have any problems in allowing our wives to do the same.

Besides Sunnah, there’s not a single text in the Quran or a hadith that prohibits women to work. However, she must take care of certain factors like: whether her clothes are too revealing or not? Whether she’s attracting too much attention? Such limitations were also mentioned to the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.):

“And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.” (The Quran 33:33)

Therefore, a woman who wishes to do business or work should take care of the guidelines mentioned in the Quran in order to stay on the right path.

It is imperative to understand the Quran and Sunnah carefully before making foolish decisions like prohibiting women to work or study and consequently limiting their potential. Educational and means of living are for the entire mankind and not limited to only one gender.

 

How To Offer Namaz

It is connected by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (R.A.) that (once) the messenger of Allah (Sallallaho aloha wasallam) was sitting on the other side of the mosque that a man came in and offered his Namaz (Prayer). Subsequently, he went to the holy Prophet (SAW) and paid his respect  to him. The Holy Prophet (SAW) gave back the welcome and  said: "Go and offer the Namaz (Prayer) once more. You have not said it correctly." He goes back and perform the prayer again and came back to the Holy Prophet (SAW), and offered his regards. The Holy Prophet (SAW), giving back the greeting, and said"Go and offer the Namaz (Prayer) once more. You have not said it correctly". After offering Namaz (Prayer) for the third (and the fourth) time, he said to the Holy Prophet (SAW): "Please, learn me how to offer Namaz (Prayer)". The Holy Prophet (SAW) answered: "When you decide to offer Namaz (Prayer), first perform Wadhu thoroughly and well, then turn to Qibla, then start the Namaz (Prayer), in the wake of expressing Takbir-i-Tahrima. After reciting some part of the Holy Qur'aan which you can recite easily. (In different places identifying with the same occurrence, it is expressed that the Apostle of Allah (SAW) told the questioner, particularly, to present Surah-i-Fateha and anything he loved, At that point after the presentation, perform Ruku till you are still and calm in Ruku. At that point, emerge from Ruku till you stand erect. At that point, Then, perform the Sajadah till you are still and at comfortable in Sajadah. Then arise till you sit up comfortably. (As per another narrator, the Holy Prophet (SAW), rather than it, said: "Then emerge till you stand erect). At that point, do like that all through the Namaz (Prayer) (i.e., in every Ruku, Sujud, Qauma and Jalsa in a smooth and collected manner) (Bukhari and Muslim)

 

 

Namaz (Prayer) of Holy Prophet (SAW)

 

Hadhrat Ayeshah (RA) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (SAW) commenced his Namaz (Prayer) with Takbir and the recital with Al-Hamdu-Lilaahi Rabbil ‘Alameen, and whereas performing Ruku he never raised his skull up and not bent it down but kept it in the middle position (i.e., in line with the waist) and when he from Rukuh he did not go into Sajadah till he had stand upright, and when he raised the head from Sajadah he did not perform the second Sajadah until he had sat upright and he recited At-Tahiyyatu after every two Rak’ah and at that time, he compressed the left foot under him and kept the right foot in the upright postion and he forbade Uqbatish Shaitan (sitting like the Devil), and he, also, forbade that a man sat (in Sajadah) with his forearms (i.e., parts of arms between elbow and wrist) placed on the ground like the animals, and he brought the Namaz (Prayer) to an end by saying Assalmu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah." Five Ahadith on Faith in Islam

Faith is essential in Islam. Right faith about ALLAH, the universe, and mankind is of essential concern to Muslims.

 

The Quran, the Holy book of Islam states:

"Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.”
(Al-Quran [2:177])

To have faith in these principles, as well as many others, are essential to the followers of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

 

Following are the five Ahadith which explains about belief or faith in Islam:

 

“Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

Allah's Messenger (S.A.W) said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):

  1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Messenger (S.A.W).
  2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.
  3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) .
  4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)
  5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.”

“Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (S.A.W) said, "Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya is a part of faith." “

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr:

The Prophet (S.A.W) said, "A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands. And a Muhajir (emigrant) is the one who gives up (abandons) all what Allah has forbidden."

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet (S.A.W) said, "None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself."

Narrated Abu Huraira:

"Allah's Messenger (S.A.W) said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children."

Hazart Abu bakar (R.A) - As Siddiq

Hazart Abu bakr (R.A) was always a nearby Companion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). His original name is Abdullah ibn Abi Qhuhafah. He knew him better than some other man.

He knew how fair and upright the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was. Such information of the Prophet made Abu Bakr (R.A) is the first man to take after the Message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

 

 

 

He was to be sure the first grown-up male to acknowledge Islam. He was also First Muslim caliph. He (R.A) was such a close friend that Hazart Muhammad (PBUH) said in his last days...

 

“This Hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters and the one narrated on the authority of Abdullah (the words are):

“Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) is reported to have said: Behold I am free from the dependence of all bosom friends and if I were to choose anyone as bosom friend I would have taken Abu Bakr as my bosom friend. Allah has taken your companion as a friend.”

Sahih Muslim [Book 44, Hadith 8]

 

Life before Islam:

 

Hazart Abu Bakr (R.A) was quite and sincere man. He was very trustworthy person. He belongs to Nobel family. These properties make him different from other. His (R.A) kindness also won heart of Hazart Muhammad (PBUH).They become friends in early boyhood. He (R.A) was very soft hearted person. He always tries to help the poor.

 

After Islam:

 

He (R.A) was the first man who accepts Islam. When holly prophet (PBUH) disclose to him secretly about the revelation of ALLAH (SWT) Hazart Abu Bakr (R.A) accepted Islam without any hesitation. Holly Prophet once said that:

 

"When I invited people towards Allah, everybody thought over it and hesitated, at least for a while, except Abu Bakr who accepted my call the moment I put it before him, and he did not hesitate even for a moment.”

 

As He (R.A) accepted Islam he starts preaching Islam. He daily visit different people and invite them. So he was also second who preach Islam. He (R.A) was also the companion of cave. He surfed Islam in all his possible ways. He was commander in battle of baddar. After the Ascension in the 10th year He (PBUH) narrated in the morning. Some of them came of Hazart Abu Bakr (R.A) and they told that what holly prophet (PBUH) is saying. He (R.A) said if He (PBUH) is saying then its truth. For this Holly Prophet (PBUH) named him as-Saddiq.

 

Death:

 

After a fortnight's disease, As-Siddiq al-Akbar passed away at 61 years old on the 22nd Jamadal-Akhira. Prior to his demise he said to his girl Lady 'Aisha (R.A), "Don't utilize new fabric for my cover. Wash the sheet in my utilization and wrap my body in it". His wish was followed up on. His next wish was to pay all the cash he got as compensation for Caliph from "Baitul Mal" (The Public Treasury) in the wake of offering his arrangement. He said, I didn't prefer to take anything from the "Baitul Mal however Umar pressed me to acknowledge some remittance so I would be soothed of my occupation and give my full time to the obligations of the Khilafat (Caliphate). I was left no decision however to acknowledge the offer". After his demise 'Aisha asked Hazrat Umar to assume control over that arrangement as craved by her father. Umar remarked: "May Allah bless him. He left no chance for anybody to open his lips against him".
